Ian Thomas, part of Artist Life Stories, Speaker Series  $40

Ian Thomas: A Life in Song Musician and author Ian Thomas rose to international fame with his 1973 hit song, Painted Ladies. During an illustrious career he’s earned a Juno Award, the prestigious UNICEF Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award and the SOCAN National Achievement Award for song writing. His songs have had additional success with international artists such as Bette Midler, Santana, Manfred Mann, America, Chicago, Bon Jovi and Anne Murray. Thomas will discuss his musical journey, life as a writer and his recent works with host Cameron Smillie.

Artist Life Stories, Speaker Series

Each evening is like a perfectly mixed cocktail. Two parts conversation, one-part live music, one-part question and answer and splashed with a dash of the unexpected. Each evening includes a 90-minute interview session and ends with your questions answered from the stage. And, everyone comes away with the true story behind the artist. Hosted by Cameron Smillie, co-founder of Live at the Hippo Pool Events Inc., presenting performing arts events in theatres across southwestern Ontario.
